I spotted this neat shot in Lori Houle's Guest Gallery Album and for some reason I kept going back to look at it several times. I'm not quite sure if it was the angle of the photo, with the field grasses in the forefront or if it was just that mangled mess of branches with just a few leaves still hanging on. Whatever it was, I really like this for a fall photo, since it shows that there is still some beauty to be found after the leaves have hit the ground. Maybe not the intense beauty of the fall colors, but pleasing none-the-less.
Speaking of the fall colors.... are you missing them right about now? Well, you don't have to be, just click on this link: neilharriphotos.com and order yourself a copy of Neil's DVD titled: Autumn Aerial Tour of the Keweenaw Peninsula. Once it arrives, you can sit back in your easy chair and fly over the colorful Keweenaw with Neil. Don't forget Christmas isn't that far away. There must be someone on your list that would enjoy a tour too!

Fall in the Keweenaw, can't beat it! One week to go before we'll be there, can't think of anything else lately, lol

You have a good eye, Mary. I think it is a unique tree and the photo draws one in. Lori did a great job.

It was all about the tree... here is my sisters version on my photo of her tree: hi lori, ahhh yes i recognize that apple tree, it poses for me right outside my studio, and is visited all day long by the Bobolink on the very top singing it's song so bubbly and bright, the Bluebird calling to it's babies in the nesting box nearby "hey i have a grasshopper get ready for me to fly in", and the deer in the evening eating the buds and apples preparing for the long cold days ahead. this year it did not have apples, but last year it wore a coat of deep crimson, bearing more fruit than i had ever seen before. it was then that i painted it's portrait on a small clay panel trying to capture it's essence in the late afternoon light. . .the painting i offered to to Kristy and Eric in honor of their union, they will never know how it has offered itself to those who have recognized it's beauty in all seasons. . . i know by your photograph it wasn't taken this year or last, it offered itself to you at midday after the sun had risen and before the sun had set, it's age is more than 25 years, and it's variety is macintosh, it is one of 49 apple trees that have been named and cared for like our children on the farm. . . i'm glad you have enjoyed our place of calm and joy. . . love, jeanne

Yes, bjmilford, she does sell her work... you can email me and I can get you info... she has shown her work at the Copper Country Community Art Center in Hancock. Thanks! Lori P.S. I tried to contact you thru the link to your name but it pulls up a blank profile page.
