What a glorious autumn day here in mid-Michigan, for a drive to look at the autumn color! I had heard that it was supposed to be near-peak in this area, and would be for the weekend, but, in my book, anyway, we are past peak. True, there were a few trees left with some red & some orange & some yellow. But, many had started to turn to brown or had already dropped their leaves. That's ok, because our weather today seemed to be like Indian summer, so it more than made up for the less than spectacular color. The sky was clear, the wind was calm, and the temperature was in the high 70's. It was awesome to sit in the park, watching the quiet trees, the calm waters of the lake, and the leaves falling off the trees like large snowflakes. Memories of today will have to last until next year, after the snow melts, and the leaves bud out on the trees again. :-)
