What is the domain name (URL) of the new Keweenaw County website?

By Gene Carlson (Gcarlson) on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 03:53 am:

Good Morning
http://www.infomi.com/county/keweenaw/

Good work, Gene, but the keyword in the question is "new". The infomi.com site has been around for awhile.

We're leaving for the UP inless than an hour. Can't wait!!

By 4WDGreg (4wdgreg) on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 07:34 am:

Less than an hour? How lucky you are Ken. I have to wait about 35 hours!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 07:43 am:

Well I have to wait a week and a half!!!

Good morning everybody. Happy Hump Day!!

I was with my granddaughter last night for a shopping trip, and on the way home we saw a sight similar to the one in the picture of 2000. She said, "Look grandma! God's coming down to take somebody to heaven!" I'd never heard that one before. She's 9.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 08:26 am:

Charlie...it looks like you took the 1998 photo from inside a pipe.

Thanks for the Keweenaw County website info.

By Helen in the U. P.! (Lahelo) on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 11:49 am:

Some parts of the U.P. are at peak if not they will be by this weekend. Having this cold spell and the rain has helped it along! Just BEAUTIFUL!

By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 01:19 pm:

Alex,

For the 1998 photo I was holding a mirror in my left hand and the camera with my right. That way you can see the camera itself as the camera sees out the window. Standing in the dining room of our home in Eagle River.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 01:38 pm:

Charlie, what a view from your dining room...we are all envious, I'm sure. Have a safe journey down state.

I clicked on the bridge cam and I saw the plane at the airport on the other picture. As much as I am scared to death of flying I will fly to Houghton....;0)

Speaking of the Bridge Cam, I see the Radar Base Cam at Mt Horace Greeley is showing some nice color today:

Radar Base Cam

(It probably would have been a bit better If I'd snagged the picture just a few minutes earlier.)

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 04:38 pm:

And I'll be coming UP a week from today for five glorious days!

Or perhaps just a bit later? (That little bit of glare seems to be gone now.)

Charlie, I'll trade you houses. Mine looks out on a lake too, and it's actually the cleanest and deepest in the county. I'm sure you wouldn't mind doing that. Thanks in advance.

Sitting here at the computer eating a pasty is very messy, especially when you eat by hand, not on a plate..:o{

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 09:53 pm:

I'm jealous that you're eating a pasty. I'm hungry now.
