I don't know about you, but no matter if Lake Superior is all roiled up and wavy or if she's calm and mellow, it soothes me to just sit and stare at her waters. Today's shot from Greta Jones is one of those wavier photos. The wind has just about stripped the trees of their leaves, along with working the Big Lake into some white-crested rollers. If you stare at Greta's picture long enough, I bet you'll even begin to hear the waves crashing on the shore. :->
I won't be gazing out at Gitche Gumee for a few days, as I'm on my way to visit our new Granddaughter (her Mom and Dad, too!) in California. So, I'll be like the rest of you viewers who only get to see the U.P. through the eyes of the Pasty Cam. Don't worry though, I'll be monitoring things going on here at home, from afar.

Beautiful picture of the lake, but it's hard to take a bad one.
Have a safe trip, Mary. I know you can't wait to meet that little girl.

Looking out on the Big Lake brings back so many memories of my younger years growing up in Lake Linden. I look forward to getting back up to the UP each year and count the months before I will be back there. Never get tired of all the beautiful country.

Mary, enjoy the time you'll spend with that new granddaughter. They are so sweet. They grow up so quickly. Mine will be 8 the end of December.
Love the picture. It reminds of the day(9-30)we spent in Marquette watching the surfers.

Mary, the squalls coming in off the big lake this morning aren't full of rain...it's snow. No accumulation, though, except in the roof valleys.
