Good Morning all. I try to keep the littering laws simple for my kids, throw things nowhere but a garbage can. When we hike we take a plastic shopping bag with us for all trash we create along the way.

NEWS FLASH: This morning the original Pasty Girl - Becky (Hopper) Howard - gave birth to Kira Marie (KEER-uh) Howard, and proud new father Bryan Howard called me with the details, which I wrote on a card. Oh, here it is, if I can read my writing... Kira is 19 pounds, 7 feet 10 inches.

Correction: that's 19 inches, 7 pounds 10 ounces.

We'll have to make that the Early Bird question tomorrow.

Sorry to miss you too Mary. I was by Lake Linden many times this weekend. It is absolutely beautiful here. I hate to go home. We are now heading back to Marquette, and then Munsing for the Pow Wow. We did stop by Oswald's Bears and that was the best experience ever. I got my picture taken with a bear cub. That will be one of my treasured photos from this trip. (well along with all the pictures from Houghton). If anyone is interested, I saw in the newspaper yesterday that Houghton is going to take down the catwalks over the main drag downtown. I am on my way to get a picture before there isnt one anymore.

Charlie: You sure made me laugh with the size of your first grandchild. I thought here's a basketball player. You are excused, however, as we know how excited we get with the birth of a grandchild, especially that first one. They all are special, but we do get a bit rattled the first time. Got a bit flakey myself with the first one and wanted to tell everybody that I was now a mummu. Congratulations to the parents and grandparents!
