Losing a loved one is never easy, no matter how old or young they are when they leave us, it hurts. We here at Pasty Central have a month-end tradition of honoring those that have gone on before us. This month we hold in our thoughts:

My heart goes out to all of you who may have lost a loved one this last month.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Family of Dylan DeForge who died on Sunday evening by a hit and run driver. I remember babysitting for Dylan's dad years ago. My the love of family and friends help you throught this difficult time.

Herman Sturm 1916-1996 born in Iron Mountain laid to rest in Rochester, rest in peace grandpa I love you.

For Cole Ruotsala from Ironwood 09-17-08 a three year old that was a true gift from God may he rest in peace and may the lord bring closer to his family. God Bless you Ruotsala family and friends.

I am remembering my father, Eugene Bruhn, whose birthday it is today. World War II vet and a good person. Whenever my birthday would come around, he would tell me "One year more experienced." I miss him a lot.

Remembering one year ago yesterday we lost our very special Black Lab "Looper" at 14 years old. Her yellow colored sister "Wiggles" was to leave us a month later. One year ago today our neighbors dogs cornered our big old all white cat "Snowball" and killed him. How can I ever forget?

Someday at the Rainbow Bridge we will meet again!

Though we've had our share of human and pet losses in recent years, nothing in September. Our condolences to all who mourn.

Mom and Dad even though they were not married at the times of their death. I remember the good times growing up and moving across country several times with them, my two brothers, and our dog, Lady. What a life time of experiences we had! Thank you, Lord!

In closing, does anyone have any information of
Wayne's family? George and Dorothy Carlson and his
sister Anita? All I can remember is Mom worked at
the Leader Department store in Escanaba, and his
Dad was a retired ore boat skipper. Wayne did have
a cousin, Mark Gabrielson, whose parents owned a
grocery store in Gladstone. Mark was a Grad
Assistant at MTU when we were at Suomi. Thanks!

In memory of my father, Robert Houle, Sr... he passed away on my granddaughter Claire June's first birthday. He lived from October 15, 1918 until September 28, 2008, just two weeks short of his 90th birthday. We will celebrate his life every year as we celebrate hers. Thank you Dad for all that you taught me and for all the comfort you gave me, especially in your last weeks of life. I know that you loved me...your 'baby', Lori
