Judy Byykkonen and her walking companion, Mandy, have been taking advantage of the warm fall weather we've had this week, by heading out for some walks in the woods. Thank goodness she remembered her camera, as they discovered some beautiful colors popped out along their way. Judy says this first picture is a rare moment with her Labradoodle, since she's a bundle of energy and doesn't usually sit still for long. Nice that she chose to pose so pretty amongst the fall foliage, too.

The second shot gives an idea of the extent of the color right now, with there being some green still to be seen. I was surprised how much the colors have developed just from early in the week to now.

I'm not sure about those last two characters that Judy (and Mandy) encountered. Kind of reminds me of the Wizard of Oz, when the trees start talking and end up throwing apples at Dorothy and company. Although, looking at these two faces, they look like their bark might be worse than their bite, don't you think?

OH MY GOSH.... THE GUARDIAN TREES CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD A LITTLE BIT AS I SCROLLED DOWN THE PICTURES. NOT WHAT YOU WOULD REALLY EXPECT TO SEE IN THE WOODS... ;0]

The first photo is amazing. The combination of colors, including Mandy are perfect. Great job Judy!!!

It seems that fall comes and goes so quickly. It is such a beautiful season. ENJOY EVERY DAY.. as soon it will be over.

I saw a tree like that on the road to Prickett Dam. I bet that's a pretty spot at this time of year. Be a good place for a picnic. I'm trying to think where I saw them in a catalog. It might have been a Birds & Blooms magazine catalog. You can try going to their website and I bet they have a spot there that you can view their products. Birds & Blooms magazine is a Reiman Publication, so you can google either the name of the magazine or Reiman Publications.

To Jonesy and others: They are available at Carol Wrights, Harriat Carter, Home Collections, just a few off the top of the head. You can more then likely Google them and and get all kind of answers.

My wife and I, and our nephew visited the Keweenaw Peninsula
on the Lake Superior Circle Tour in 2005. Even though it wasn't
yet Autumn, the Keweenaw is certainly 1 of the exceptionally
more beautiful areas when Autumn shows its different colours.
Great photography!
