Maybe it's my imagination, but it sure seems like we've been experiencing more wind than usual this year. The result of these windy days is captured in this photo by Paul Meier. Even as the sun descends, brightening the gathering clouds with a reflective pink tinge, the waters of Lake Superior keep rolling in, frothy and white on the tails of the winds. The breezes keep blowing, the sun keeps setting, the day starts coming to a close and Mother Nature provides the skies UP North with a grand finale to the day.

We've had a lot of wind out here this year too. Matter of fact, I think I made that same statement last year. Don't know what's up with that. Nice picture!

How fortunate I feel to be able to go online each morning and start the day with beautiful pictures such as this, which I share with friends and family all over the country. I actually got tears in my eyes when I saw this picture. Sitting at my desk, in my windowless office here in metro Detroit, I just have to pretend this is right outside.
