In what year did the first month-end memorial sunset appear on the Pasty Cam?

Good Morning everyone! 67 and sunny here in Houghton. High of 85 predicted for today, too hot for me.

I finally made it to the UP. Currently we are in Marquette, but plan to move on to Houghton on Tuesday. Yes the weather is going to be HOT here for the next couple of days. Figures, I brought clothing expecting it to be cooler. But then again, it is MI and you never know. I am just very happy we are here!!!

Any info on the fire in Ontonagon this morning? Mom said it took out 3-4 four stores across from the First National bank, and the clothing store across from them.
Thanks

How much is the clean up at Central and the Cliff going to effect those areas? Both are historical locations. The cliff should be registered at a national level as well as state. The more they push stuff around the less of the historical remains remain. The sands at the Cliff they plan to clean up are 150 yrs old and a rock/mineral hunters dream, Capt Paul has told of chisel peaces of copper from cutting mass in to reasonable sizes.Amagine being able to collect copper from the most historic copper mine in the U.S., yet soon it could be just history. I want clean water just as anyone, but I also want to preserve the past. The U.P. is beutiful but the real draw to me is exploring. There is no fun in exploring a freshly bulldozed field. I wish they would use a barrier method instead of the bulldoze and cover. If all the history is removed it will leave just a wildreness. There are plenty of wilderness national parks. They promised this would focuss on the history.
