Good morning! WOW! The sunset picture in 1999 was absolutely spectacular! Thank you!

It is with great sadness that I tell you that my daughter Kathina's husband Des died suddenly and I wanted my family and friends in the Bootjack Area and Baraga who are on vacation and relatives that live there to know. This is the only way I have of reaching them during the summer. So I hope they are reading the PastyCam.

Beverly, Once again you, Kathina and the rest of the family have my sincerest sympathy.

As many times as I have been to Copper Harbor, I have never gone to the tip of the Keweenaw. I tried it one time but got lost and the road was so bad, I had to turn around and go back.

Does anyone know of a good route to get there?

Took a trip w my cousin once, a 'local' who fishes and explores everywhere, knows every nook and cranny, yet we never made it to the tip either. So don't feel bad!

I've been to the end, but it was probably in 1976 because I remember hearing the song "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" on the radio as we were boondocking our way through the woods. Since the Edmund Fitzgerald sunk on 11/10/75 and it was not winter when I went there, it had to be the following summer. Very beautiful place.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your kind words, support and prayers for the passing of my son-in-law. He will be very much missed by all who knew him and I am sure he is in a much better place than he was on earth. Again, your sympathy is very much appreciated. Love, Beverly and Kathina

I would like to thank everyone for this wonderful outreach of love & support.

Des was the love of my life. I know what we shared together was precious & rare. We did everything together & he was my very best friend.

Both Des & my Mom, Beverly were cut from the same cloth. He was a storyteller, and had a heart of gold. When he smiled he lit up the room, and when he held me I was home.

We went from rich to poor, and it only made us stronger knowing that our love was the best & only thing that no one could ever take away from us. It only made us stronger. We enjoyed every moment we shared over the last 18 years, & I really wasn't finished with him yet when God chose to take him back home. He was only 48 years old, and taken from me way too soon.

I am just going moment by moment right now, staying focused on taking care of Des last wishes, and taking care of myself. He needs me to be okay.

I have Des' spirit and God to guide me, and with that I will learn to go forward and start living all over again, this time on my own.

I Thank all of you for your love, prayers & support at this very difficult time.
