I'd still maintain it'd be better to remove them. Just nowhere near doable.
As to toxic, I seem to recall that not too long ago a man in Britain died from poisoning with Dihydrogenmonoxide. He just took too much of it, and it worked basically like a toxin, as far as I understood it. Whatever - that's a rare one.
