Happy birthday Deb. Hope you are enjoying your stay in Lake Linden. I am glad someone remembers the important days, I can then wish my best and look good. A bunch of us spent the weekend on Lake Michigan at St. Ignace. By being on the Lake, I mean on the beach. I just love the dunes on US2 west of St. Ignace. I got to look at the stars one night. An occurance that doesn't happen here in Berkley. Too much light at night.

Please everybody hold your applause. I except this Early Bird Award for eight - eight - zero eight with pride and joy! It is a great honor to have won. Hooray !! It was a great race with a worthy opponent, Russell. And it feels good to have beat the incumbent Mr. Trollperson by such a large margin. I will wear this E.B. Badge proudly today, in hope to serve it well. And will look forward to the next race. I have no one to thank, other then the Award being there to Win. I did it all myself.

Last week Cathy Clementz at yooperyarns.com said; "When you view the area that was the fire, you would never know that it had been less than a year ago. Within weeks of the blaze, lush, green vegetation had sprouted. It is back to being wild country once again."

Question for you kids cruising the UP.
How do you deal w/ the bugs? When I lived there, a lot of warm weather, late nite – hi speed runs turned into a suicide missions when my goggles got plastered over w/ bugs.
Want to cruise up there one more time before they throw dirt on me but was planning on confining running to the warm part of the day. – Bugs or no it was the best place in the world to be free & mobile – hope it still is.

To Carl...good heavens man you make it sound like you have one foot in the grave already. Listen, pup, you're just entering the good time of life. Take advantage of it and get off your duff. Make that trip to the UP! If you're retired already, go for it. Or prepare for it little at a time til you do retire. I'm just reving up myself at this age and making plans for my future. Who knows what's lies ahead?hey?

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It just so happens that KJ and I even have the same birth year. Happy b'day KJ. Did you get your card?

Sorry this is late but we've been UP north since the 1st of August. Met a bunch of friends (some from pasty) in St. Ignace and had a great time. After that we headed to Whitefish Point and then to the Copper Country to spend the rest of the week with my parents and other family members. Mary Drew was nice enough to help us with camera problems while we were there. What would we do without you? And sorry I missed you when you dropped the CD off. Thank you so much.
