We're usually living in the past here on the Sunday Pasty Cam. This week our Shoebox Memory series about U.P. history takes a break, and discovers some current memories being made. Paul Roberts caught his family admiring the 2008 Pasty Cam Color Calendar while they were camping out. The second photo shows the current August picture, that awesome storm front at Great Sand Bay - which also happened to be taken last year by Paul Roberts. (That's Paul's Mom holding the calendar).
We're all excited here at Pasty Central, awaiting the arrival of the 2009 Pasty Cam Calendar, which should become available this week. It's different than any of the previous annual publications we've offered, this year packed with high definition aerial views of the U.P. by pilot/photographer E. Neil Harri. You'll want to order your copy this week, either with or without pasties, as we plan to post the September shipping schedule in a couple of days. (Where has the summer gone?)
We also take a break from our Pasty Cameo historical series this week, and present instead a time lapse of a Keweenaw Bay Sunset which Amanda N. posted on YouTube recently (for those with a broadband connection). Or if you've been away from the computer for awhile this summer, you might want to catch up on the other (lower bandwidth) Pasty Cameos.
P.S. - Happy Anniversary to the original Pasty Camist and his Dr. Mrs., married on this day in 2002, after having proposed some months earlier right here on the Pasty Cam:

Happy Annniversary Jon and Katrina.
Thanks for reminding me about the pasty cameos, Charlie. I'd missed 3 of them and so I've been enjoying them for the past 8 minutes or so.
Loved the Keweenaw Bay Sunset. Thanks, Amanda. You're very lucky to be able to catch something like that. I envy you guys who get to see that beauty every day.

Thank you Amanda, for the beautiful sunset. The crickets are chirping outside so it even made it feel like I was right there watching the sun go down. There's no place like home.... !
