Back in the early days of the Pasty Cam, Jon Hopper took the majority of the photos with Charlie getting a few in here and there. Then others started contributing their talents too, one of them being Joe Kirkish, who sent in these three Superior shots today.

Joe's debut as a Pasty Camist actually appeared on these pages, back on October 30, 1999 and proved to be quite an interesting shot:

But I digress, back to the trio he sent for today...Joe said he took these pictures as the sun was rising one morning, with the strangest fog/cloud effect over Lake Superior. It kept changing by the second, as his shutter snapped away, until it evaporated completely. Great shots, Joe!

This retired Michigan Tech Professor is well-known in the Keweenaw, not only for his photography, but also as a film and theater critic. Joe is the driving force behind Club Indigo at the Calumet Theater. He introduced the idea of the monthly dinner and a movie series, which will be featuring the political romantic comedy State of the Union this coming Friday.

Great selection of Pastycam pictures today, especially the freighter one! An auto repair shop here in Cedar Rapids, Ia. has the picture of the old car,( a '50 Chevy?) with the tree growing out of it on their wall, blown up to a 8x10 size.

Great pictures, I have seen much of his work around and always enjoy it.

The 'trunk in front' has always been one of my favorites. Looks like a 49 or 50 Chev. Those were the days!

Joe is also to be thanked for initiatiing the beginning of public radio in this area, in particular, WGGL. I will always be grateful to him for that.

That third shot is awesome.....looks like a mini-hurricane. Sorta eerie, but beautiful! Thanks, Mr. Joe.

Awesome pics. Love the tree growing through the car. Sweet pics of Lake Superior and the freighter sailing. I hope to catch some boats in a few weeks.
