Excellent outdoor scenes today and there's nothing like a cool drink with a twist of chipmunk.

Can someone tell me where this Rock Harbor Lighthouse is and how to get there. Can't say as I've ever seen pictures of that one.

Rock Harbor is on the south east side of Isle Royale. The lighthouse is on the west end of the harbor across from daisy farm. If you know Isle Royale.

The weekend was too short and summer is going by too fast. Maybe we will have a warm fall?

Beautiful sunset at the beginning of the slide show! My husband and I have lived in the south, east, north, and west in this great U.S. of A., and I have to say the most beautiful daytime skies are in Wyoming, but no state has sunrises and sunsets that can top those in Michigan! Love it!

Hi, I am hoping someone here can help me locate a restaurant. I understand there use to be a place called the Summerplace in Houghton, up on the hill overlooking the lake? Does anyone know if it still is open. If you have a link to a website that would be great...

Norma I just came back from the U.P.. Went past that driveway several times but didn't see their sign. Maybe someone from the Copper Country could look in the phone book and send you the number if it's active.

The Summerplace has been closed for several years and I never made it there!

The Summerplace is no longer due to a fire several years ago.

There's a little sandwich shop in downtown Republic called The Summer Place. Just so happens you can access Pasty.NET broadband Internet service there (if you sit at a table near the front windows), because of their proximity to the Republic Township hall.

The Summerplace was a great place to eat. I just loved it!! Was sad when it they didn't rebuild.

Ahh, that it was, quite an "upscale" dining experience for the ol' Copper Country!

I wonder who was doing the "chef'n" there, and if he/she is still "chef'n" somewhere else today?
