Leave it to Joyce Tormala's feline friends, to follow behind her when she heads out for a hike. She says that getting away without them isn't always easy, as they follow along, one after the other and they do a good job traveling as a group.

Now, Ken Scheibach's walking partners look like quite a group too, maybe more like a gang of stinkers! Actually these guys were walking in the opposite direction that Ken was headed, so he veered left and they headed to his right. Both the gang and Ken then continued on their way, without putting up a stink. Close call Ken! :->

Don't you know I'd get the second group instead of the first. Still remarkable to get either picture.

By Mr. Bill (Mrbill) on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 - 07:41 am:

Wow, check out Ken's photo album.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 - 07:53 am:

Love that skunk picture! They have that "gang" look about them.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 - 07:54 am:

Ken's album is very impressive.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 - 10:17 am:

Joyce's pets are always fun to see, they sure get around with her. The second picture is exactly how I like to see those little guys, and I mean in a picture. They are cute though too bad they stink.

Cats vs. Skunks; reminds me of a Yooper "Westside Story"...Yesterday's pix of the "Ranger" brought back memories of my trip across to the Isle in 1967. Was the boat green back then?...Remember standing at the stern and watching that beautiful green water virtually effervesce as the props pushed us towards Rock Harbor. Absolute trip of a lifetime. Walked the Greenstone Ridge and flew from Washington Harbor back to Rock Harbor...Pasty.Net rules!!

We need an outcome. Picture #3.
Its like East Side meets West Side.

I say Skunks Win.

Thanks, everyone for the nice compliments on my albums. I have a great time with the digital camera and it has turned into a great retirement hobby. After the initial cost of the camera it is pretty inexpensive. No green fees and you can do it year around :-)

Don't know about any of you, I rather the cats over the skunks. But my cat died just a few days ago. It was and still is heartbreaking, but it's good to know she isn't suffering anymore. She was only 5, and we still have her 2 sisters, and they were lost the first day without her as they all come from the same litter. The other 2 are adjusting to the change without her, but at the same time they do miss her and they know that I do too. It weird how animals know when something just isn't right.

Yep. First sight, three cute critters taking a walk. First thought - Joyce.
I imagine your walks to be as enjoyable as you like to share them, thereby providing a relaxing moment for anyone who can enjoy the picture without getting too jealous.

Badkid, Sorry to hear of your loss. It is never easy but when they are so young and in their prime, it is even harder. Whenever we lose a pet, the entire pack has to readjust.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 - 07:21 am:

Gee Danielle, that's hard. We had to have one of ours put to sleep a few years ago and it took many days to get over it. And even after that, it was hard to deal with for a long time.

Joyce's cats are precious. We had one that followed the kids everywhere they went like a dog. The one we had put to sleep would follow us up to the curve in our road when we went walking and stop. When we got back to that spot she was there waiting for us. Cats are great Aren't they Mary?????

Skunks are so cute but I don't want to be around them. Good for you for getting those pictures. You're a brave man.

Oh, Badkid, I am so sorry about your cat. I had two litter mates, and the boy died last Oct. His sister still misses him and so do I! Try to remember all the wonderful things that made your cat special.
