A few weeks back the Pasty Cam featured a little fawn that had been rescued from the middle of a Keweenaw road and it certainly caused quite a stir, even to the point of the DNR tracking down the folks involved. It's nice that so many folks are concerned with the welfare of the wildlife and making sure they are cared for properly. By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 07:20 am: Those are sooooooooooo darn cute. Yesterday on my way home from work, I looked out into the field I was passing, and there was a fawn running as fast as it could through the field. It was so cute!! They're beautiful animals! By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 07:46 am: Neil must have really been flying low :). By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 08:53 am: Great fawn pictures today! Normally every year we get to watch fawns that are born in our field grow until they are big enough to jump the fences. This year there are no fawns to watch, I'm sure the devastating floods had a big part of that. By E. Neil Harri (Ilmayksi) on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - 09:04 am: The fawn in first picture wobbled across the Eagle Harbor shortcut road in front of my car. I had to brake to let it cross. It bedded down on side of road to hide. I backed up to see if it was allright. I took that picture out of window. The mother must have been close. We have a doe w/ triplet fawns in our area this year. They were in our yard the other day. I'm sure she was teaching them to eat our plants! Beautiful nuisances is what they are.... |
