The kayak photo by Jeremy Rowe happens to be hanging above my desk, on the 2008 Pasty Cam Calendar, featured picture for the month of June.

Dan Urbanski’s photo is interesting. I am trying to figure out what the green swirl is in the water. My guess is grass. That looks like a turtle in the top right-hand corner.

Below is the message from that day (June 7, 2001) by Dan Urbanski.

Perhaps this photo is a little too abstract, but I found it fascinating. We are looking at fresh, new spyrogyra algae in a slow running stream. I wasn't able to filter all the reflections from trees above, and that's what gave the swirls and added marbleized effect. More than flowers bloom in the spring!

Thanks for the info Shawn.

Did anyone else notice in the day in history that the same picture was used on June 6, 2002, as was used 2 years and one day later, on June 7, 2004.
The superior rocks/shore by Steve Brim.

How weird that the two uses of the same piuc were 2 years and ONE day apart!

Unrelated to that... it is a joy to experiance the work of Dan Urbanski in this daily retrospective. I enjoy trying to pick his work out before the name appears.
