By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 - 01:26 am:
We've had plenty of rain over the weekend and even a bit of snow in the upper elevations, north of Calumet, which is helping the falls all around the U.P. to be at their finest for viewing. John Sturos and family headed over to the western end of the Peninsula to take in a few of the rivers and falls recently. Their first stop was at Gorge Falls, located on the Black River, where the little Sturos' took in the view. John's second shot, shows a clear look at the same falls, with the third shot being part of the Gorge Falls River, downstream from the actual falls. By DEAN SCHWARTZ SR. (Lulu) on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 - 03:06 am: GOOD MORNING ! I recall my aunt Barb taking us to Queen Annie falls out side of Copper City. That was many years ago. By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 - 07:52 am: Super photos and thanks for the info. By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 - 08:05 am: Wow! Fabulous shots of the falls. There's a lot of energy there. If only I could tap into that for my morning motivation. By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 - 09:02 am: Absolutely gorgeous pictures of these falls. It's a great time of year for those types of shots. By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 - 12:15 pm: This must be waterfall week. These are gorgeous. By David Soumis (Davesou) on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 - 11:31 pm: i did that Black River hike with my wife about 5 years ago...it was in the summer but the falls were still pretty decent. I would love to see them during the snow melt...they must be awesome.
