Good Morning, Everyone! We have power again, hooray! It went out about 8:30 last night, & it finally came back on this morning just before 6:00. I don't know why it went out, but it was out for our whole block. I am just really happy to have it back on! TGIF!

Did I hear right that parts of the UP might see a foot of snow this weekend?

Good morning!! There are some great pictures of waterfalls today! Loved them and all of the other pictures. Boy, I don't remember seeing Jacobs Falls like that in a long time. Dan's Big Iron River was spectacular, as well as the Eagle River Falls. You can't beat waterfalls!! I love them.

Hope everybody gets to their destination safely today. We got about 4" of white stuff overnight and it's still coming down. The Copper Country isn't the only place that could get up to a foot. Can't say I'm enjoying this much. Where was it in December or January???

Good Friday to all! I'm almost thinking having snow would be better than what we had here yesterday afternoon thru evening in Eastern Iowa! We were under the gun with tornado warnings, numerous tornado sightings, a few did actually touch down, and a lot of funnel cloud rotation sightings as well! Snow is in for tonite's forecast, only in Iowa! lol!

Snow was mentioned for the weekend on our weather report, too, but I don't think there'll be any accumulation. Today it's supposed to reach the 70's and then severely drop for the weekend.

I'm excited to be having full knee replacement June 17. I'll see the surgeon in a couple weeks and he'll tell me if I should do one knee or two. The x-rays look about the same for both, but my right bothers me much more. So I'm going to squeeze in a quick trip UP to the cottage in Aura between the end of school and the 17th. Hopefully, I can still help with the bean soup at the Aura Jamboree. Maybe by summer's end or our autumn trip my knee will be enough better to do one of the hikes I've never been able to do. Or I might have to wait until next summer to do much. I've never been to Hungarian Falls for one thing.

Good luck, Marsha. I have some friends who have had good experiences with knee surgery. One thing one says is "do both" She had serious probs with the 'other' knee after she elected to only do one at a time. Wishing you a good experience too.

Charlie you told of the Palm Sunday Tornados(4/11/1965) in the This Day in History for today. Here in Hillsdle county on that day we had 10 people die from the Tornados that tore a path from one side of the county to the other.
Well today we are again under a Tornado Watch( they did not have watches back then) and a temp of 70 with high gusty winds much like that day was(I was 14).
So both ends of Michigan are having very bad weather today. Mrs W

Good evening from Mishawaka, IN. Here we were under a tornado watch for several hours this afternoon. Thankfully nothing came of it. It got up to 73 degrees this afternoon and it's down to 52 now.
When Charlie mentioned the Palm Sunday tornadoes it brought back lots of memeories. I was in a VW bus on the Chicago Skyway when I learned about them. We could hardly keep the VW on the road the wind was blowing so hard. They hit really hard in the Elkhart, IN area--not far from Mishawaka. President Johnson even stopped in Dunlap, a little town south of Elkhart, to tour a traler park that was totally distroyed and where 10 people (if I remember correctly) died.
Hope the Up isn't getting to much snow today.

Well, we got about 8 new inches of spring today. It was a lovely spring day with the snow coming down sideways. Just beautiful! Or maybe not!

Very big wet flakes here in Cornell as it was getting dark. Lots of rain and sleet last night. Cold wind, too. Saw my first robin yesterday about a mile away from the house. It was on a fence post, just singing away. Hopeful sign for spring? :o)
