Good morning and talk about gorgeous sunsets. I think this is my favorite slide show yet. Thank you!

Happy Anniversary to my parents, Ben & June, from Lake Linden. And happy birthday to my 9 year old granddaughter, Hayley.

2001 looks like this year, was a lot of snow and ice at Calumet Waterworks park the other day. Had to take my Virginia Beach Baby to the beach, she made sure to get a picture of her at the beach in Michigan to show her southern friends.

Good Morning, Everyone, from rainy mid-Michigan, on a rainy day and a Monday. It figures, since it's spring break week for our younger sons. We have plenty to do, but still, seeing good ole' Mr. Sun would have been nice! :-)

Speaking of sun, those are fabulous sunsets, Charlie--thank you!

Great to be back in God's country snow and all.

No April fools joke. Mikie/Precious; Capt. Paul, Dr. Nate.>>>> It was our turn this weekend! A carload of "hotshot" kids pulled out of a shopping center driveway right in front of us without stopping in downtown Richmond Friday evening. Never had a chance! I broadsided them. Both cars totaled, Syl & I spent the night in the hospital. Checked out, observed, X-rayed, tests etc. I'm OK (I think), Syl has cracked ribs. No air bags in our poor old Crown Vic. but the seatbelts saved us! They wouldn't release me until my elevated blood pressure leveled out. Our 2 Labs were with us and went flying up to the front. They are OK though. I sure was worried about them too. It's a wonder the kid sitting in the front passenger seat of the car we hit wasn't killed! I think all those kids are OK. The driver got a ticket. My digital camera went flying from under the seat, luckily it seems ok! What a frightening Experience!! We are lucky, but it will take a long time to get over this!

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Monday, March 31, 2008 - 11:34 pm:

Russ make sure you get checked out by your doctor in a few weeks. I was told by the hospital there was nothing wrong with me and I ended up with five broken ribs and a punctured lung. Since the accident I have four more broken ribs that have showed up with new xrays. I am lucky to have a son in law who is a doctor and keeps insisting that I get checked out. Wish he lived closer but he is in Manistee. I send my best wishes for you and Syl. Hope that all of you fare better then Precious and I did. My air bags didn't go off either but the cage in the car saved our lives. You can expect to hurt for some time. Sorry about the long boring post.

Russ: I hope you and Syl are on the mend. Sorry to hear about
your accident. Glad your dogs weren't hurt.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 - 01:54 pm:

Russ and Syl...thank goodness you and your dogs are OK. What a scare! I bet I know exactly where you were in Richmond; I hate trying to drive there...there is a sort of service road or extra lane that is very deceiving. Definitely take Mikie's advice and get additional opinions. Take good care!!

By Russell E. Emmons (Russemmons) on Monday, April 7, 2008 - 02:37 am:

Thanks guys for the kind words. Sorry I'm late with this reply. Mikie we will follow up on this but I don't think we are bad off as you guys were. (hopefully). Our old Crown Victoria was pretty solid even though it met its demise. It had no airbags. Our problem now is we must find a new Dr. It seems the one(s) we went to aren't taking "new" patients and we hadn't seen them in a few years so are now "new" patients. I feel penalized or discriminated because of not needing a Dr. and/or self treating ourself when sick!

Cindy, we were on 31 Mile between Gratiot and County Line around the corner from that lane and right in front of the new Kroger! LOTS of traffic there now!
