Gusty winds over the weekend here in the Keweenaw brought down some trees across power lines in several places, interrupting our wireless broadband to several communities. Thanks to the UPPCO guys with the chain saws who got us re-connected.

Goodmorning!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, March 3, 2008 - 06:41 am:

Good Morning Everyone! It's warm here in Troll Land (44) now, but a clipper is coming through here this morning, with heavy rain, falling temperatures, and then an inch or two of snow. I guess this will soon count as a Rainy Day and Monday.

By Joanne Sherrick (Shedoesnails) on Monday, March 3, 2008 - 07:02 am:

Good Morning pasty friends.
Thank you to all who wished me Happy birthday yesterday. you made my day.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, March 3, 2008 - 07:25 am:

Morning All! Well, so much for March coming in like a lamb for us....yesterday it was 60*, I hung clothes out on the line, opened a few windows, then overnite the lion ate the lamb, a snowstorm and gusty winds today making low wind chills.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, March 3, 2008 - 08:14 am:

Hmm - does the old "in like a Lamb, out like a Lion" March saying still hold if the Lamb only lasted a couple of days?

Here in Detroit, WWJ AM 950 their "I.T." Report just congratulated Pasty Cam's 10th year anniversary! and also spoke about "This Day in History", congrats Pasty Cam!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, March 3, 2008 - 09:36 am:

There was a nice article in the Houghton Daily Mining Gazette this weekend about Pasty.com's 10th anniversary, too:
http://www.mininggazette.com/stories/articles.asp?articleID=10929

This weekend there was also a very interesting article on trying out dog sledding in the UP, by Susan Ager in the Detroit Free Press, written in part, to coincide with the start famous Iditerad race in Alaska this weekend:
http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008803020685
The author pointed out an interesting fact to ponder: more people have successfully climbed Mt Everest than have finished the Iditerad dog sled race!

Thanks for the great show this morning! It was really nice to see a photo from Negaunee Township. The Copper Country is beautiful...but my family roots are in Champion/Ishpeming. Anyone have photos from that area to share?

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Monday, March 3, 2008 - 10:20 am:

My 2 favorites are MI from space and the lake with the waves. This is the best site to find Photos of the UP.

Does any one know when Pasty Central has their day in Sarasota FL. My dad was asking because he would like to attend, if it's not too late?

By Kathy P. (Katiaire) on Monday, March 3, 2008 - 11:37 am:

By Kathy P. (Katiaire) on Monday, March 3, 2008 - 11:40 am:

All fixed. Thanks.

By Daveofmohawk (Daveofmohawk) on Monday, March 3, 2008 - 03:05 pm:

Marianne: Maybe that's because Mount Everest has been there a lot longer than the Iditarod has been run?

By Ozzie W. (10330) on Monday, March 3, 2008 - 03:53 pm:
