A pair of Sundog's in the sky from Greta Jones and Sharon Smith, respectively. What a treat it is to see the sun perform this disappearing act as it falls below our Lake Superior horizon. Greta and Sharon gaze at scenes like this each and every day and luckily, they're always willing and able to share them with us!

Wonderful pictures!! To add a note tho....those are sun pillars. Sun dogs appear to either side of the sun. Check out this link for more interesting info:
I hope everyone had a great Easter!! Happy spring to all! Best wishes, Renee
Mary says: Oops, my mistake, I should have done my research. Thanks for setting the record straight.

Hi Renee, you were channeling my inner scientist/editor, as the first thing I thought was "No, those aren't sundogs, they're sun pillars". Not that they aren't lovely by any name.
I was at my parents' place in Jackson for Easter; Good Friday the snow started at around 1:30PM and hadn't stopped when we went to bed. Saturday morning there was about 8 inches.

Mary, you had me scared. I thought with the first photo it was already the last day of March!
Mary says: I knew these photos were going to cause a few folks to quickly glance at their Pasty Cam Calendars, but with so many good sunset/sunrise photos for this time of year, I thought I'd throw in a couple bonus shots before the end of the month. Sorry to have scared you! :->

Renee, Thanks so much for the link, I just spent far too long playing with their simulator trying to get an understanding of things I've seen. I will be spending many hours more. I may never understand.

Richard, glad you liked the link. That site has quite a bit of interesting reading on it. I have always found such natural phenomenas most fascinating. Best wishes, Renee
