Well, mid-Michigan has been dumped on with this storms, unlike some others recently, that did not really materialize. We have what the Weather Service terms "near blizzard conditions", expecting another 2 to 6 inches tonight, for a storm total of 8 to 12 inches, with an isolated 15 inches in the Tri-City and northern Thumb areas. Needless to say, virtually all area schools are already closed for tomorrow. The news just said that the roads are so bad now, that even the snow plows have given up. Norma, we really have had a real winter in Midland this year! Three cheers for a Snow Day! With all of the blowing and drifting, my youngest son is having a time keeping up with our driveway and sidewalks, plus those of 3 neighbors, spread out on our block. Oh, to be that young again!
Marsha, I'm sorry you couldn't help your mom tonight. I'm really glad that she has a backup plan, so that she still can have an evening snack. And, I'm glad you have a Snow Day, too!
I hope everyone is managing to stay inside, all nice and snug and warm, with hot chocolate, or something. Umm, maybe even making some homemade bread tomorrow would be good! The roads are pretty bad, from the sound of it, so staying inside for a good while sounds like a good plan to me!

Good evening, all.
We got about 8 inches of new snow today. Took me an hour and
twenty five minutes to make the drive home to Muskegon from
Grand Rapids, but everyone drove like ladies and gentlemen and
I didn't see a single car in the ditch once I cleared the GR metro
area.
Only sucked one small log and a chunk of snow fence wire into
the blower this eve, so it could have been worse.
It's super pretty out there this eve; snow covering the ground in
soft forms, snow on all the branches. It's quiet out on the big
lake. Calm black water out past the ice walls.
Sleep well, all.
