Happy Super Bowl Day, Everyone! I hope your favorite team wins, whichever team that is. :-) Have fun!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of the 18-year old young man who was killed in a skiing accident on Mont Ripley on Friday evening! That is really sad.

By Snowman (Snowman) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 03:39 pm:

Go Pats!

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 04:04 pm:

We're ready for some football here too. The chili's on the stove and
the bagels are on the counter. Yum!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 04:08 pm:

Sounds great, Kosk. Quesadillas here, maybe some strawberry daiquiris and some football.

By Snowman (Snowman) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 05:41 pm:

Grilled burgers with bacon, cheese, onion, lettuce, tomatoes and plenty of brewskis here!

Hey, Uncle Chuck, bottoms UP!

May the best team win!

Are you ready for some football????????????

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 06:24 pm:

Yes I am. Did everybody hear Jordin Sparks sing the National Anthem? What a voice that girl has. She's going to be another good American Idol winner.

By Theresa R. Brunk (Trb0013) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 06:36 pm:

Teriyaki chicken wings, Salsa with chips, Chili with Frito's and cheese, and plenty of Magarita's. LOL in my dreams. No party here just a plain chicken breast with a steamed veggie. Maybe next year I will be better suited to Party.. Go Tom!!! Go Blue!!

By john mich (Johnofmi) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 07:03 pm:

Is there a game today? Who's playing?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 08:02 pm:

Poor Tom is getting pretty beat up back there. I think his line better start protecting him if they want to win this game. Not the score I expected at half time. I'm with Theresa..Go Tom!!! Go Blue!!!

By Paul Oesterle (Paulwebbtroll) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 08:06 pm:

10-4 on the Magaritas Theresa!! A wild and crazy game so far. I'm with you! Hey John, good joke! Deb, I agree with your Sparks singing!

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 08:16 pm:

Go Blue!! The chili was terrific.

By JH (Thumbgardener) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 10:04 pm:

WHAT A GAME!!!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 10:06 pm:

Well, the game's over and the Giants pulled it off. Did anybody besides my hubby and me notice how time got put back on the clock for the Giants and taken off for the Pats? HMMMM!! Wonder what that was about? Seems every call went for the Giants. Oh well, hats off to them. They played a good game. That line sure did hold Tom at bay. There's always next year.

Think I'll go and cry myself to sleep. LOL

By Theresa R. Brunk (Trb0013) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 10:19 pm:

I am so sad... I was biting my nails that last 2:45... oh well. I think I will join Deb and go to bed with moist eyes.....

By Daveofmohawk (Daveofmohawk) on Sunday, February 3, 2008 - 10:22 pm:

Deb S.: It always seems like the calls are against your team. As far as playing a good game; only the defense of both teams played a good game, offensively I don't think either team played well. Any way I was happy to see the underdog win.

The cheaters got what they deserved.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, February 4, 2008 - 08:03 am:

Dave, It does seem that way, doesn't it? But on that last drive we were paying particularly close attention to the clock. The Giants started a play with 52 seconds left. When it ended the clock read 50 seconds (yeah right, it was a running play) and then they added a second besides to make it 51. After they scored, we were watching the clock, and after a Patriots play ended and Bill called for a time out, they ran it down from 19 to 14 seconds. Seems strange to me.

It was a good game, and you're right, both defenses played much better than the offenses did. I thought that guy with the really long name from the Giants front offensive line deserved the MVP. He got to Brady nearly every time. When he didn't play much during the Pats last drive is when they got their TD. Just my opinion.
