CLOSED FOR THE SEASON... REASON? FREEZIN'!

So many outstanding individuals have rubbed shoulders with the Pasty Cam over the years. Today's shot from the Archives is one from Taka Aoki, a young man at Michigan Tech who left his mark on our daily feature before departing for Japan. He had a website called "cutonion.com", but unfortunately I see it was hijacked by an ad-revenue generator, who probably picked it up in a brief lapse of the domain name registration. Wonder what's UP these days with Taka? Older and wiser I'll wager.

He sure captured some beautiful Keweenaw scenes.

Well, we'll try another combination for our sound-slide presentations today, as we review a decade of the Pasty Cam and look back with an Upper Michigan flavored view of This Day in History. In this iteration, we have put the nice flute music with the What'sUP page, and stuffed this day in history into the Pasty Cameo for Tuesday. In both cases the shots from 02/12/xx are included for your relaxing, reminiscent rumination. (Wonder where Wheatman is these days, by the way?)

Yup, I agree it's Haven Falls. I have autumn shots there. Was going to post one, but it has me in it so I thought better of it! Beware of sitting on the bench facing the falls there. As soon as you sit down it tips over!

Richard -- Thanks so much for the beeeeautiful picture! It brought tears to my eyes just wishing I was there to take in the beauty, peace and quiet. And the one from Taka Aoki is also gorgeous! I wish I could just click my heels three times.......to take me away and up to the U.P. :O)

I have been enjoying the cameo features. I love the format and your voice. Is it Charlie? Grew up in the Copper Country and am very interested in it's history. Keep up the good work

I remember that photo! I had it on my desktop at work one winter, to remind me what winter is really like! haven't seen snow or rain in this desert part of NM since we got back here last November from our copper country summer! Lots of snow to the north in the NM high country tho! don't have to drive far to see it. Thanks for the memories!
