Lake Linden is a favorite stop for snowmobilers in the Copper Country. The Pasty Cam spotted a few eight years ago.

Ahhh....Dinky's (The Loading Zone II)....always a good place to eat.

By Cheryl Rozman (Cotton) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 09:31 am:

Does anyone remember when they used to hold "teen center" upstairs of the City hall? I do,I also remember going down the street to Lindell's during the dance to see the rest of the crowd.
The Loading Zone does have the best food. I remember when Dinky just started out in Hubbell serving frozen pizzas. Those were many years ago.Good for Dinky, Judy & Packy.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 09:57 am:

Alright! The Loading Zone and Polaris snowmobiles....life is good!!

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 11:42 am:

Is Lindell's open again?

Lindell's is still closed and there are for sale signs in the window.

By theresa (Up4evr) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 11:56 am:

Cheryl, I remember so well the fun we had at Lindells and the dances in Lake Linden. There were times we walked from Hubbell just to go and dance the night away. The Loading Zone was right down the street from our house in Hubbell. We used to sit on the porch and watch the action at the "Zone" Those were the days!!!

By bill d-howellmi (Billdolkey) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 12:37 pm:

I went to the teen center dances in 1967. I think the band was called the "Kinetics".

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 01:11 pm:

"Kinetics". Chuck Roberts on drums, engery in motion.

By Daveofmohawk (Daveofmohawk) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 02:54 pm:

Those were the days: We had some great local bands; "The Kinetics", "Out-of-the-Blue", "Loving Kind". Didn't someone from the Kinetics write the song "Suzy-Q"?

By Snowman (Snowman) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 03:46 pm:

The thing I remember most about "the good old days" is that gas was 35 cents a gallon.

By Kenty (Dashamo) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 06:24 pm:

The Kinetics were "the band" at all the teen dances back in the day. I was browsing around some internet site last year and came across the album they recorded back in the mid sixties. They called themselves The Snow Children. Of course I downloaded it!!! LOL Don't tell the Feds!!! LOL

By Danielle Adams (Badkid) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 07:59 pm:

lol kenty shame on you!! but i am sure your not alone in this cyber world haha. my mom used to talk about the teen center she went to in houghton where the old powerhouse is now that is being renovated for a business. she told me some stories about them days lol

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, January 14, 2008 - 08:12 pm:

Oh my gosh, teen center. Kids don't know how to have a good time any more. The $ it cost to get in was so worth it. Then you'd get stamped and off to Lindell's in between breaks. Those were the days is right. I do miss that. Didn't go up to the Calumet Armory for the dances very often. It was always too crowded for me. I liked it in Lake Linden much better. Live bands for kids, now THAT'S a thing of the past.

And hey, how 'bout the TopHatters playing for our proms??? Anybody remember that?

My Dad owned the Spanish Shop.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 - 06:52 am:
