Wasn't Pasty.com connected with the Living Water Nursing Home
(is that the right name?)until last year when the nursing home
closed? Anyway, I heard the name of that nursing home
mentioned on the news last night. There was a meeting of vets
along with Rep. Bart Stupak and State Rep. Prusi yesterday. They
were talking about the need for a second home for vets in the
U.P> Some vets in the western end of the U.P. said it was hard
to travel to the Jacobetti Home in Marquette in the winter to see
loved ones, and taking over the old Living Water home came up
as a possibility. That would be a nice use for that former
nursing home, don't you think?

Good Morning, Everyone, from damp mid-Michigan, where we have dense fog. It is 37.

Kosk, maybe you should call ahead? But, then, if your son's plane is on already there on the ground, it could take off, if the visibility improves, even temporarily. Please give your son a hug, and thank him for his service to our country for me!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, January 6, 2008 - 09:39 am:

Good morning!

Kosk, where is your son heading off to this time?? I'm sure you enjoyed having him home.

It's foggy in MN too, but the snow is melting because the temps are nice.

Charlesinesky the name of the nursing home was Still Waters in Calumet. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Lewis family.

By Keith in Kansas (Keithinks) on Sunday, January 6, 2008 - 09:39 am:

Good morning from Kansas where it will be a balmy 58 degrees today. It will probably finish off the snow we have on the ground. Looking forward to seeing more again during Heikinpaiva!

Bj from milford, I grew up in milford/Highland(1980's) we lived in Highland greens.I used to work at the
car wash in town. can't remember the name. also spent alot of time at the bridge with friends.
hey, is the old doggy salon still their?also, are you familiar with the old wardlow house in highland on milford rd. the last time I was down that way I't was vacant and"for sale". this was a really cool old house had been in the wardlow family for generations. I went to school with a wardlow boy who lived with his grandmother in the house.
just wondered if they sold the house or tore it down. sure hope it's still there.

charlie,
Just wondered when the ancestors page would return?

By BJmilford (Bjmilford) on Monday, January 7, 2008 - 08:53 am:

Joanne - I'm not familiar with the Wardlow house, but will look for it the next time I go up Milford Road. There has been a lot of building north of town. Milford has some very cool older homes. The Red Doggy is still around though it moved a little north of downtown - near the railroad track.
