This scene, captured by Lois Haglund, makes the snow-covered drive look pretty inviting to venture down with either snowshoes or skis perhaps. But with the chilling temperatures we've been experiencing here UP North, it looks much better than it would feel. When the mercury dips as low as it's been the past few days, you're better off in the second picture, looking out the window at the beauty winter supplies us with, while staying toasty and warm.

The window scene looks inviting to stay indoors.

I'd always rather stay indoors when it's winter, unless I can find enough snow to go sledding and the temps are around 20. Love both the pictures today.

Snowed here in Oglesby, Illinois last evening and night. Son out plowing all night and now will work an 8 hour shift today. The sun is supposed to shine though today with falling temps. Can't wait until spring.

OK, so Christmas is behind us, New Year's Eve is past; the sky is grey, and its -13. Winter is very pretty...from the warmth of a living room chair, while sipping a fresh morning coffee. Come on Spring! Nice pictures though, thanks!

The snow is nice to look at from inside during this cold weather. My snowbank is pretty high so thats about all you can see from my front window, I added to it this morning when I had to be outside and shovel to go to work. That bank is my sons favorite place to play.

7 inches of snow here in Wisconsin overnight. Looks like a nice day to go and do a little cross country skiing. Great pictures.

That first shot is beautiful, and best viewed through the eyes of the pastycam! It's a perfect snowy day down here, with big fat Yooper Flakes falling. We don't get those wonderful huge flakes down here that often, but when we do I tell everyone they're Yooper Flakes, normally only seen in the U.P.

As much as I prefer summer over winter, the wintery photos are so much more interesting than the summery ones.
