Sharon Smith travels this highway whenever she leaves her home (Copper Harbor), to head anywhere south. That's US-41 somewhere along her drive, looking white, bright and peaceful. While motoring along this route, you have to hope that those snow laden branches across the highway don't let loose as you're driving underneath. An unexpected "dump" like that would certainly startle a driver for sure!

It looks like a lot of white stuff ready to fall on the unsuspecting drivers at any moment!

GOOD DAY TO ALL, I HAD A FEV PROBLEMS WITH TREES AND OR BRANCHES FALLING ON THE ROAD. IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO CARRY A SAW AND SOME HEAVY ROPE. BUT THE VIEW IS AWSOME IN THE PICTURE. SAFE DRIVING TO ALL.

If the trees don't have leaves then they must have snow. I bet 41 looks like that today!

That's a beautiful picture of the Covered Drive! I love the Covered Drive any season of the year! Thank you, Sharon and Mary, for sharing it with us this morning!

I like the covered drive, but not at the expense of missing the lakeview drive. That's my favorite place in the whole world. Beautiful picture though.

I have almost that exact same photo from the days when I lived in Copper Harbor. Sometimes at night if I can't fall asleep, I start at the Lac La Belle cut-off and drive the scenic stretch in my mind. Works every time! No snow here in Gainesville, FL!

Gee I wish I were there. If I could find a job in the Copper Country I would move in a heartbeat. Happy New Year everyone!

We have snow covered trees here in Hillsdale County Michigan which is about as far away from the Covered Drive outside of Cooper Harbor in Michigan as you can get. But our snow cover is only about 1 inch. The picture is sure pretty.
