Santa Claus is coming to town! If you're thinking this jolly looking fellow looks familiar, you're absolutely right. Thanks to Helen Wenzel, we're treated to Z-Man and a co-worker named Cindy, as Santa and the Mrs. parading down the streets of Ontonagon. Nice to see Z-Man on the other side of the camera for a change, he looks good in red!

I did a little parading myself, around Lake Linden to check out the Christmas decorations. I was rewarded with Santa on a vintage snowmobile, with his sack of toys in tow, displayed on the main street. Then I spotted the "Reason for the Season" lit up and shining, along with some other twinkling lights on the other end of town.

It's Christmas Eve, so if you're done with your shopping, baking and decorating, it's time to sit back and enjoy the decorations and all the work it took to get ready for the holiday. If you aren't done with the aforementioned holiday activities, you'd better get going and finish up.

RAUHALLISTA JOULUA, from all of us here at Pasty Central!
Translation: Wishing you a Peaceful Christmas!

A MERRY CHRISTMAS to all from our family in southern Wayne County..We are up at 6a.m. to pick up our granddaughter from California, only to find out her flight is now cancelled and she wont arrive now until 4:00 today.(back to bed for us)

Great winter pictures again today and really show the CHRISTMAS spirit is alive and well in The Keweenaw.

Windy but no new snow here so Santa should be able to make his rounds this evening.

After my third attempt I have cooked a near perfect French Canadien Tourtiere (pork pie) i.e. wife & g.kids had a piece and approved it.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, December 24, 2007 - 07:59 am:

A very Merry Christmas to You All, and to those close to you. We are glad that we did not lose all of our snow this weekend, with the rainstorms, high winds, and warm temperatures. We lost much of it, but we still have enough to have a white Christmas here in mid-Michigan. I have most of our packages wrapped. Now, I just have to get my husband to find the ribbon and gift tags, so I can put the finishing touches on them. Merry Christmas, Everyone!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Monday, December 24, 2007 - 08:00 am:

I always knew that Santa's first stop was the U.P., probably to get fueled up with a couple of pasties before the long night ahead of him.

A Christ centered Merry Christmas to everyone from
cold and gray Chicago. Kids should arrive from St.
Louis later today, youngest daughter trying to get
out of Nordstroms early (manager there, gotta be
nuts there). I actually picked up a Jamming Jeep
for Granddaughter at Toys R Us today. Talk about a
mad house. All I want is to listen to the Messiah
tonight with my bible open. Hey the Christmas
music continues till New Years Day on Wheaton
College radio, 88.1 on your FM dial. Can also be
heard over the internet through Wheaton College
web site!! It always bugs me that on the 26th you
never hear any more music. Wish I was in Iron
River going over to City Market to get my lutefisk

Me neither, I thought that was like moonshine, ya secretly cook it up in your own kitchen, and don't tell the neighbors! (As if they couldn't tell!)

By Ken ja Mimi from da UP (Kenjamimi) on Monday, December 24, 2007 - 11:09 pm:

We had a real nice candle light Christmas Eve service at the Watson Bible Chapel tonight. The church was packed. God is alive and well UP here. Merry Christmas and a Happy, healthy New Year to all. Hauskaa Joulua ja Onnellista Ootta Vuotta! Got about 5" of new snow yesterday in Cornell. Remember to sneak out to the barn tonight at midnight, to hear the animals talking to each other. Ever hear of that? :o)

As always, I enjoyed our church's candlelight service. It was
especially good to have our soldier home from Iraq and standing
beside us as we sang "Silent Night."

Ken ja Mimi
I have heard about the animals speaking at midnight. I listen to my cats proclaim the blessed event every year at Christmas midnight. It's really true. One just has to believe. :-)
Happy Holidays all!
