Today's pictures are a few of my favorite things about Christmas. The decorations - pictured here by Brenda Leigh, glowing and lighting the night. The Carolers - this was one of two groups of songsters that walked about Lake Linden this past Wednesday evening serenading us townsfolk. They even had a pair of trumpeters to accompany them and they sang quite well. Probably my favorite Christmas tradition though, are the children's programs. Those angelic faces up there singing their little hearts out to a crowd of proud Mom's, Dad's and Grandparents, that's just priceless. The little guy in the middle of the photo, wearing glasses and smiling through the singing, is my 5 year old Grandson. He's in Mrs. Carlson's Kindergarten class at Lake Linden-Hubbell schools, where they were wishing us all a Buon Natale!

<Charlie notes:> The second two shots were actually taken by Mary herself. Didn't catch it before today's Pasty Cam was published.

Whatever happened to Caroling? I am 45 and have never had a neighbor come and sing. Oh well, the kids are adorable. Merry Christmas to all.

I was happy to be a part of a cool thing. One family group goes to a house...they sing a song, maybe abide in some Christmas cheer, then your family goes with to the next house. We had a couple of hundred people wandering around singing carols after awhile. It was really awesome...and fun.

Buon Natale (Italian) = Merry Christmas.....I think. I grew up near many 1st generation Italian-Americans that lived in Caspian, MI. Remember hearing their greetings on the streets this time of year.

The high light of the fall session while a member of the Suomi College choir was to bus to Marquette, and tape a concert that would be shown over the holiday. This was back in 69 to 71 so that was hot stuff back then. I forced my best friend Wayne Miller Carlson of Escanaba to be the "host" of the show. There he was in a nice chair with Xmas tree and fake fireplace telling you what is coming up next. He wasn't planning on telling his folks when it was on, but I called them and let them know. Wife's grade school had their "winter concert" on Wednesday, not one word of Christmas or familiar songs where sung. God forgive them for they no what they do...
