I know it's muzzleloading season, but I'm not "up" on the regulations as to whether you need to wear blaze orange during this hunting season or not, but no matter, this snowman isn't taking any chances. He's the greeter to the cross country ski trails that Brenda Leigh and family have in their Menominee back yard. Lucky Brenda, it's not everyone that can have a ski trail in her own backyard. From the second photo, I'd say there's a possible "dress code" required for skiing on Brenda's trails too, which isn't a bad idea if there's any chance of hunters in the area. You wouldn't want to be skiing down the trail and have some unsuspecting hunter think you're a deer bounding through the woods.

That's the cutest snowman I've even seen.

Anyone who hasn't gone snowmobiling or skiing through the Copper Country doesn't know what they are missing. I am so glad you guys are getting serious snow so far this autumn and I hope that it continues into the winter. The cash registers ring more often for many people when the white stuff is on the ground in abundance. Lake Superior also needs a few more feet of water, so this snow is a good thing overall.

There's nothing better than cross country skiing in the Keweenaw on a nice winter day.
