It is often said that pictures tell a story, and these three today from Bob Gilreath, tell us all about digging out your vehicle after a storm. It's not bad enough that you can barely tell it's a truck underneath all the snow, but then look at the size of the banks the snowplow left on side of it. This kind of snow removal calls for the use of a blower and some blood, sweat and tears. Well, maybe not any blood, but if it was me out there running that snow blower, there would be plenty of sweat and maybe a few tears as well. I think the young lady in the third picture has the right idea in just sitting down to wait for the guys to get the truck out of this mess, then let's head to the mall!

Well we knew winter was coming hey? Even here we're plowing Main St. so early in the morning! Have a good one. Another snow coming this evening.

I think the young woman needs a Yooper Scooper to lend a hand, must be a city gal to park herself on a snow bank like that? Thought provoking scenes, Bob, You'll have to give us some details!

That looks like an all-day job. I have never been stuck in snow but the closest I came was on I-75 during a snow storm. I was going way to fast and lost control at about 60 mph. My truck did two complete 360 degree circles and I just kept going. (I almost soiled myself.)

TOP OF THE MORNING, THIS IS A COOL SITE. I LIVE AND WORK IN INDIANA AND MY BOSS CAME IN THE OTHER DAY SAYING HE HAD JUST TALKED TO HIS HAM-RADIO BUDDY IN THE UPPER-PENINSULA OF MICHIGAN AND THEY HAD A HUGE SNOWFALL. HE WAS CONFUSED WHEN I TOLD HIM, "I KNOW, I SAW IT THIS MORNING" (ON PASTY CAM). HAVE A GREAT DAY!

That reminds me of the terrain by our cottage in Aura. 17 degrees here and my husband is off to Jacksonville, FL to see our daughter that got ran over by two cars Thanksgiving evening. Have a good day all!

maija in Commerce Township (Maija): "The truck has a plow!"
Now we know the answer to that ol' question: How does the snow plow driver get to the snowplow?

Another Ohio Cam Watcher - Dotsie in Columbus - sent me this scene from their neck of the woods this morning:
Brings back memories of being a student at MTU and going out in the morning on snowshoes with a broom handle to try and find the car so you could begin digging it out.......

The snowfall in Ohio looks better to shovel out of, but I'm happy right here. However my lawn chairs are currently the only furniture in my living room so they are not outside.

SteveL's statement reminds of the time I accidently went cross-country skiing on top of someone's car. This was while I was living in downtown Kalamazoo, after a big blizzard--I want to say in '78 but it may have been '77. The car was buried under one of those snowbanks built by the plow; it was easier skiing up there than in the deep soft stuff in people's yards. I hit the roof with one of my poles, realized what that sound meant and lifted my poles and strode off.

Oh, I was living in kalamazoo in '78 or 77.... sooooo Kathy that was you?
We are so jealous Yoopers, wish we had that beautiful snow to at least shovel, although the skiing would be even better !

Lol too funny to log in late and see your kids on pasty.net ;-)
you know its bad when we had to use the snow blower to get the plow truck out. It was 30 degrees that day and the truck was stuck in there by a wall of CONCRETE pushed in by the grader.
Dosen't my daughter look happy ;-)
Mary in case you dont recognise them any more thats Paul and Sarah. Paul is now a JR at MTU.
And yes he was hurting after cutting thru the banks.
