Good morning from a very, very windy Ontonagon.
Stay warm!

By Margaret, Amarillo TX (Margaret) on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 - 07:08 am:

where is that? I thought it was the remains of a castle and I'm not sure there is one in the UP let alone the Keeweenaw. Give me some ideas if I'm wrong.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 - 07:22 am:

Good Morning, Everyone, from windy mid-Michigan. Our high temperature today is forecast to be 35, at noon, and then dropping. As my oldest son would say, "Fun!".

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 - 07:27 am:

What a difference a day makes! We have almost no temperature here in Minny this morning. 2 above with a -20 wind chill, gotta love it! Oh yeah, and no snow to go with it. Have a good morning y'all!
Mr. Deb

By Rowdy (Roudymi) on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 - 07:34 am:

OOOO, castle, I like that idea. Ye ol' CRUST CASTLE. In the days of yor the Pasty was developed right there on that site. The towns folk would gather daily to clean vegghies and dice meat for the pasty alchemist to mix in just the right proportions for the lushious creations that were to be sent out across the land to feed the multitudes. Multitudes can get very hungary when so far from home don't you know!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 - 07:36 am:

Good morning! I got up this morning thinking that it sure has been a nice November only to be hit on the head with -20 wind chills. You'd think I'd be used to changes overnight, but I just don't like the cold. BRRRR!!!! They ought to move the polar bears down here.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 - 08:01 am:

As novel idea as a castle would be in the Keweenaw, it's actually the ruins of the #2 engine house at Central Mine. Go up the hill from the "Central Mine" sign on 41 and take a right at the first cross-street. Drive in and look to the right, just past shaft #2.

Boatnerd's showing several ships in transit between Duluth and Copper Harbor. I'd sure hate to be on-board.

Margaret you are so funny!

By Margaret, Amarillo TX (Margaret) on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 - 08:29 pm:

Thanks Helen, looks like Dr. Paul set me straight, but wouldn't it be fun to pretend. With the air strip on the previous page and this ghost, I guess everyone knew I was flying a broom.

By Helen in the U. P.! (Lahelo) on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 - 09:00 pm:

Yes Margaret it would be fun to pretend. Would be kind of neat to go through a castle too and its ghosts it may have!
