Charlie...maybe it's time for a new t-shirt, like "Pasties & The Keweenaw Rock". Or even have a contest for t-shirt slogans and the winner gets a dozen pasties.

My first thought was: "Where is the Keweenaw Rock?" I must be losing it. Good thing we have a half day here today (at school).

Before I move I should try the pasties at the pizza place down the street from me, the owners family is from the UP so they should be good (his Mom taught him how). A little bit of snow flurries outside Ann Arbor right now.

where is this pasty pizza place? i'm in ann arbor and have had a hankering for a pasty for awhile now. i'm too lazy to make my own, so this might be the perfect solution.

The Pasties are at Checkerboard Inn in Pinckney, they also have the best breadsticks on the planet.

Brooke, better than the Tomato Brothers bread sticks? Is the Checkerboard Inn where the Pinckney Inn used to be by any chance?

Not sure, haven't been there since it was Gus's. Checkerboard is on Pettysville at M-36 a couple miles east of town, has been there for years.

We have had a cold front descend on us. I hope it lasts awhile. It is so nice to have temperatures in the low to mid seventies.Our hurricane season is about over, and I certainly am glad.
I miss being in the UP. I hope we can make it back next summer and maybe spend 4 months there instead of 3. There is still so much I want to see. Meanwhile, I will enjoy pasty cam and all the great pictures and all the messages posted. Have a good evening all.
