Good Morning, Everyone, from soon to be rainy mid-Michigan. They are predicting a deluge for this afternoon.

Congratulations, Thumbgardner, on your Early Bird! How is your husband doing?

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 09:24 am:

Morning! Another gay day here!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 09:25 am:

Ooops, I meant gray day here! More rain expected.

By s. dearing (Geebeed) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 09:28 am:

Good morning from drizzly, central Indiana.

By k j (Kathiscc) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 09:41 am:

Yeah, it's raining here, too. Again. My Airedales and Welsh don't like it, and yet they forget it's raining and still want to be let out. Then they look at you like 'What, are you crazy? It's raining out here!'

By Tom Karjala (Tom) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 12:44 pm:

Rainy and about 50+ here in Green Bay. More rain coming from the south later today.
When looking at the Tobacco River being so high do you suppose the lake levels will be affected to any degree that is noticeable? I hope so. I drove by Baraga last week and with the wind off shore the like shore seemed more normal.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 01:53 pm:

We are getting our deluge in Ann Arbor. Tom, I noticed water was up in Baraga too it was very low over the summer. Was a beautiful weekend in the Keweenaw.

By Snowman (Snowman) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 01:54 pm:

My dog hates the rain too - - - he doesn't like walking through "poodles".

By Snowman (Snowman) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 02:00 pm:

Guess I should have mentioned that it's raining cats and dogs.

By Dunerat (Dunerat) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 02:16 pm:

Tom --

Yes, the level of Lake Superior is rising. Since the beginning of September, the level is up 7 inches. It's still about 13 inches below long-term average for this time of year, but it's a lot better than it was.

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 04:39 pm:

Hello all, going to rain here too anytime now. The Mural above you say is on the wall at Quincy's Restaurant. That would be the old SIS's CLUB on M-26 in Dollar Bay.Now owned by Koleminen?
May have spelled that last name wrong.I have trouble with these long Finish names.
ki(Kathiscc)I saw the picture of you in your profile. You look like my 5th.wife.

By k j (Kathiscc) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 04:47 pm:

OK that one didn't fly (get it?) How about this one?
Recently my minister's little girl had been so naughty during the week that her mother decided to give her the worst kind of punishment: she told her she couldn't go to the Sunday School Picnic on Saturday. But when Saturday arrived, she felt that she had perhaps been too harsh on her daughter and changed her mind. When she told her daughter she could go to the picnic, the child's reaction was one of gloom and unhappiness, instead of the expected joy."What's the matter? I thought you'd be glad to go to the picnic." her mother said. "It's too late!" the little girl said. "I've already prayed for rain!"

By Snowman (Snowman) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 04:49 pm:

She also looks like she's had her "haydays".

Thanks for the laughs, you know who.

By Margaret, Amarillo TX (Margaret) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 06:29 pm:

There's rain on the bridge cam. Hope all is well and warm enough not to have snow.

A little single-jacking action in an unknown mine; what a way to mine eh??

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 07:02 pm:

Mine went out of joint, reaching up and over my head (I was on sidewalk level, and the door is up two high steps), trying to turn unlock and open the doorknob while my son was standing there with a heavy laser printer, says hurry up, mom, hurry up... Five years ago, they started talking about wanting to replace the joint because it has zero cartilage left in it. (That is after a second, less dramatic injury, that involved a torn rotator cuff, among other things.) I don't trust shoulder joint replacement technology yet. It has improved in the last 5 years, but it is still no where near that of hip or knee joint technology is. My shoulder has real limitations and can be painful, but not as much as it would during recovery from replacement surgery.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 07:42 pm:

I am wondering if the apparent increase in shoulder injuries has to do with the advent of today's lifestyle, where most of us have more sedentary or desk-type jobs, so we aren't out there lifting weights, etc, all the time, etc. We are more what they refer to as "Weekend Warriors", in that we tend to do various projects on the weekend, split & carry & stack wood, or whatever. But since we aren't doing that on a daily basis anymore, we don't have the muscle, tendon, et al, tone, so we are more prone to injury.

By k j (Kathiscc) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 08:14 pm:

What? Wasn't that yesterday's converstion?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 09:23 pm:

Good evening. Very nice mural.

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 11:32 pm:

It was talked about yesterday some what. But at times certain things will take a leak into the next day,as this shoulder pain has. I have problem's with my right (dominant)arm from the elbow to the shoulder. Shoulder been dislocated two times, and fixed by Dr.in ER .First time from a bike wreck, like I had the other day pictured on my Profile. And once diving into water. And afew times I put it back my self. Baseball and hockey wasn't good for it either. I throw right and bat left, and right depending on what hand the pitcher is. And my job for many years I used my arms lifting, where my back really was not needed to do the task. I have a PT trainer and he showed me a exercise work out for it. As long as I do this routine once a week now there is less pain. Could it be that we are not getting the same Vitamins, Minerals, and Nutrients out of a can of spinach like we used to 20 years ago or more? And many don't take supplements like we should? I don't know why there are so many shoulder pain problems now a days. But maybe our online expert about everything can expand on it some more?

P.S. I read that if you switch your mouse pad to the other hand and use it that way it forces the other side of your brain to work harder and you become smarter. Any smart alecks what to tackle that one? Just kidding. But it sounds logical enough to me.

By Betty Paull Colborn,AZ (Betty) on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 - 12:29 am:

The reason my hubby is having his shoulder replacement Friday is because of RA (rheu.arthy) has been 'eating' his whole body up. He isn't looking forward to another operation. Has had both hips and knee replaced because of arthy. Not fun. Hope Mr. Deb is doing good. Waiting to hear how he is doing.

By Snowman (Snowman) on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 - 08:38 am:

Okay, let's see how much smarter I become today. Here goes, I'm switching my mouse to the left hand. !@#$%^&*()!@#$%^+_)(*&^%$#@!+_)(*&^%$#@!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 - 09:31 am:

Still rowing in circles Betty, thanks for asking! Therapy starts tomorrow, oh goody.......
Mr. Deb
