I took my kids on a tour of Tiger Stadium during that last open year. Visited the broadcast booths, dugout and around thru the seating and out the gate by the flagpole in Center Field. However, dissapointed no clubhouse tour cause there was a game that nite.
When we were on the field at the dugout the guide was very protective of his dirt along the first base path in foul territory. When I was instructing my kids into position for a pic with home plate behind them, he 'bout blew a gasket.
Good thing he didn't notice some guy crouched down filling his little film container with some of the red dirt history or the tour might of ended right there.

Jarmo, that cruise is a good time. We bring out the coolers and lawn chairs and sit by the road and watch it go by. Like a classic car parade but not crowded like the woodward cruise.

Looks like there are two things that are waning tonight. :o(

Take down the old stadium, it's an eye sore! and I say that as one who attended the 68 and 84 World Series. Put up a new development to help that community. Besides, we now have Commerica Park, let the old go away, we all have our memories. Im sorry, it looks like an anchor and I see it daily, put er down and out of her misery.
