Good morning. My daughter and I are off work today and we are going up to Saugatuck MI for the day. Wish we were going up to Copper Harbor to Barb's shop instead. Maybe someday.

Is Barb's shop the one with the old-time soda fountain and cozy fireplace???

In the photo gallery section under John W Anderson you will see a old picture postcard of the "Last Frontier" bar. I remember having a few drinks their in the 70's. One of only two bars in Copper Harbor at that time. Then Barb open it at a gift shop and soda bar.

Good Morning from rainy Sault Ste Marie

Good afternoon from a much drier Houston these days!! It feels like fall is starting to come around here; still hot, but much drier air has moved in and it feels nice. I hear the Keweenaw is going to get quite the windstorm tonight. I'm sure Superior will rolling pretty good if it comes to pass....

So, since I have the first post this afternoon, does that mean I'm in line for the "Afternoon Bird" of the day??? ;-)

A much drier Houston, because you sent all the monsoon rains UP North to us! We flew from San Diego to Minneapolis yesterday, with an hour delay from San Diego, then once we got into Minneapolis, our flight was delayed an hour and forty five minutes at first, then all of a sudden it was "on time" again. That was just a teaser though, since about 15 minutes later, they canceled the flight completely. The next available flight to Hancock was going to be Saturday morning, so my hubby and I, along with 5 other people rented a minivan ($1000...YIKES!) and we drove home through the heavy rains and all. We arrived home at 7:00 this morning! So I guess we can thank you for that, right? Could we send you the bill for the rental? :-> Other than that though, our trip to San Diego was fantastic!

Minneapolis area had a rather sudden(though it had been brewing all day) torrential down pour with flash flooding around 6:00 p.m. Lots of hail too and a tornado touchdown which probably was the reason for the canceled flight. I would have taken you Mary!
