Wow...this picture is so inviting. Can you just imagine yourself sitting there on the shore as the sun is coming up and hear the sounds of the day come to life and the quiet surf on the rocks....aaaahhh...

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Thursday, September 20, 2007 - 09:04 am:

Cindy, I'm with you. When we were camping at McLain I sat on the chairs in the quiet before the kids woke up.

Hoping to hear from Deb on here later about Mr. Deb's surgery. I hope it goes well for him & they're able to fix the problem once & for all.

By Cheryl Rozman (Cotton) on Thursday, September 20, 2007 - 03:27 pm:

It's with great sadness that I tell everyone that Al Bonanni who owned & operated Al's Bar in Hubbell for many years passed away yesterday at Our Lady of Mercy Convalesant Home.
His obituary can be found at www.dailymininggazette.com/

He was a great friend to my Mom's family years ago. He had many friends & I offer his family all of my sympathy.

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Thursday, September 20, 2007 - 04:47 pm:

I was just on the mininggazette.com site and read that too Cheryl.Don't use the Daily, type it in as I have it.I'am sure many of us from the U.P.go to that site often to read news from back home, and the Obituaries.Always sad to find someone you know has passed on,but also in a good way brings them to mind the way you remember them last.I only knew AL,from going with my Grandpa,so I could drive his 58 olds home if he had one to many,at a young age. Oh those were the days my friend,I wish they never would end.

By Pennie (Trolldiva) on Thursday, September 20, 2007 - 05:53 pm:

Talked to Deb a little while ago. Mr.Deb is doing fine, enjoying his pain medication. I think Deb could use a drink after her long day. :)

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, September 20, 2007 - 06:04 pm:

I also knew Al Bonnani and he was a gentleman who will be missed. My condolences to the family.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Thursday, September 20, 2007 - 06:21 pm:

Thank you for the update, Pennie, Trolldiva. Are they home from the hospital now?

By Pennie (Trolldiva) on Thursday, September 20, 2007 - 06:40 pm:

Marianne, when I talked to Deb they were not on their way home yet. Ron was still in recovery. Deb was taking all of their stuff to the car. By the time you read this, they might be home.

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Thursday, September 20, 2007 - 09:37 pm:

Mr. Deb, hope you're doing well, I have to have shoulder surgery on the 16th of Oct. to repair a tear, not looking forward to it.
Hope I get to go 4-Wheelin at deer hunting time.

By Fran in GA (Francesinga) on Thursday, September 20, 2007 - 10:01 pm:

Thanks for the offer to help but I caught Mary's reply first. All is well now.

Poor Ron having to go through this again. I am hoping the this surgery does it and that he will be o.k. after this heals.

I recognized Al's name but couldn't place him until one of you said he was Al from Al's Bar. He had a nice place.
