This shot was taken by Debra McCumber on a family outing to Piers Gorge. If you're unfamiliar with the spot, it's located in Dickinson County, south of Norway on the Michigan/Wisconsin border. The area gets its name from the Menominee River cutting a deep, dramatic gorge as it makes its way over a series of stone shelves and four distinct waterfalls. This shot of Debra's family (minus Debra of course!) is taken on the 3rd Pier rock ledge. With those slanted slabs of stone, it gives the viewer the impression that the picture is tilted too!

Wow, that's really cool. Haven't been there yet, but we'll have to go now that I've seen the picture!

I have been a U.P. fanatic for about 10 years now. My home page on my computer is set on Pasty.com for about the past three years. Still, I continue to amazed by the seemingingly inexhaustable supply of great natural treasures up there.

I too wonder about Marianne's question. What happens if there is a major constructional prob w the bridge? Is there a plan?
