These two shots of a "mystery falls" were sent to me by Jeff Kalember, with the challenge to figure out the name of this waterfall, along with its location. We're going to start this guessing contest with only one clue and see if anyone is up to Jeff's challenge - It's somewhere in the U.P. There's a prize to the first person who gives the name AND location correctly - a Pasty Central pasty, courtesy of Jeff himself! Let the guessing begin...

I'm going to be away from my computer for the day, so I'm going to leave the awarding of the Pasty prize to Jeff himself. Hopefully he'll be around to monitor the guessing game. If not, I'll check the guesses when I get home this evening and let you all know who the winner is!

It looks as though it could be in our field, since monday night we have had 13 in. of rain.

The lake in the background is Siskiwit Lake on Isle Royale. The river is Siskiwit river which runs into Malone Bay on Lake Superior.

If Lulubelle is right, I'm going to be kicking myself all the way to the copper country next week.....

I took a 6 day course on the ecology of isle royale and we did the canoe/portage route from Malone Bay to Siskiwit Lake to Intermediate Lake to Lake Ritchie and finally back to Rock Harbor via Superior. email me your address Lulu and I'll send out your pasty certificate !! Lol, oh well, you can't win them all; congrats Lulubelle!! I figured it was Isle Royale by looking at the rocks in the falls, just didn't know which lake/stream it was.

Besides, the Dr. and I are going to be eating plenty of pasties while we're up there in a week or so....
