Missed again, Morning all from Berkley where the sky is cloudy and blue at the same time.

By Kelly Kidd (Ellykay) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 06:41 am:

Good Morning from Lodi, Ca. Were the sky is still dark.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 07:00 am:

Morning everybody! Beautiful sunny skies here in Minnesota.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 07:09 am:

Good Morning, you all, from foggy mid-Michigan, where we have a 60% chance of showers & thunderstorms today & tonight. That doesn't necessarily bode well for my youngest son's outdoor band concert tonight...

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 07:10 am:

Where are these gardens? Are they accessible to the public?

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 07:25 am:

Last official day of school today. Tomorrow it's a whole day of
meetings and THEN we get to leave for our long weekend in the
UP. When I talked to the relatives last night they were hoping for
rain to break the hot spell. Soon I'll have sauna, family, wind in the
pines and a view of the Big Lake. I can hardly wait.

Beautiful gardens! For what is Still Waters now being used?

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 08:04 am:

Good morning all from sweltery Lansing. It was so humid when I was walking at 5:30 a.m., my glasses were fogging up. Glad to have that done early. Fit by Fifty...that's my motto!

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 08:06 am:

Mary--How is your mother doing? I hope she is improving and that
she can come home to the UP soon. I'm praying for you.

By Margaret, Amarillo TX (Margaret) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 08:17 am:

Fabulous shot. I request one for my backyard.

By jmac (Jillann) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 08:34 am:

Good Morning from Western Illinois a balmy 79 with only 70% humidity. Hope everyone has a great day!

By Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 08:55 am:

To answer the questions about Still Waters, the building is currently vacant and on the market. The gardens are having minimal maintenance by several volunteers. We hope someday to see the facility and the gardens in use again.

By s. dearing (Geebeed) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 09:25 am:

Thank you for the info about Still Waters. When we were in UP last fall, we made it a point to drive by Still Waters to see one of the places mentioned on this site.

We nearly passed The Hut. Unfortunately, it was not open at that time. We'll stop by the next time we come UP.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 09:27 am:

Wow, Koskintoronto, you guys are in school late into June. My daughter has been out since June 8. That must get very hot in the classrooms. I hope you have air. When does your school start in the fall?

By Ken, Kalamazoo, MI (Kenkazoo) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 12:33 pm:

When we were UP a couple weeks ago, we stopped at the Hut for lunch. Nice place and very good food. We'll be back when we bring the youngest kid back to MTU in August.

By Jeremy (Jst) on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - 12:46 pm:

Just curious about the Ukrainian Inn in Wakefield. Does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks.

I received this information from Weldon Dube, who asked me to post it for him:

"Lady Be Good" B-24 Bomber, Quartermaster Graves Registration Search and Recovery

Hi Mary, You may already have run this on the Pasty.com web site, but I thought it would be great to keep these memories going as one of the crew was from Lake Linden, MI. The younger generation has all but forgotten what some of our heroes have been through. Thanks in advance as I'm not sure how else to get this on Pasty.com.

Check this out (The Story): Lady Be Good

Technical Sergeant Robert E. LaMotte, Radio Operator/Gunner Lake Linden, Michigan (I remember when they went missing and folks back home were saddened to receive this news.
Weldon Dube, Glendale, AZ

Weldon was right in assuming this had previously appeared on the Pasty Cam pages. Back on August 17, 2003 we featured pictures and a number of comments were posted too.
Thanks, Weldon, for reminding us to remember!!

Octave Du Temple was instrumental in getting the propeller for the Lake Linden site, I believe.

Gone2Long--School starts the day after Labor Day. Most teachers
return to set up their classrooms and attend meetings the week
before. It sure was hot today. 34C (high 90sF) but very, very
muggy. No air conditioning in the gym where festivities were
taking place, but the fans did help.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, June 28, 2007 - 05:07 am:

Okay, I am here waiting with baited breath for Charlie to post, I am coughing so much I thought I should leave Precious in the back of the house while I try to get the Early bird award, hope I don't fall asleep and fall out of my office chair. That would be embaressing and would hurt. Jimmie the fat white cat is fasinated by something out side of the office window. He is sitting on his little window perch looking out the window and his tale is wagging back and forth must be the neighbors cat outside that has peaked his interest.
