The waterfront was buzzing on this day eight years ago in Houghton, Michigan, as Father's Day and Bridgefest coincided. The Pasty Cam was there for a glimpse of the activity.

Good morning! Welcome to the last full day of spring. The days get shorter from here on. Isn't that a great thought?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 06:50 am:

Good morning! Gee Paul, thanks. I feel better already. It's a sad thought, isn't it?

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 07:14 am:

Well, Deb. On a happier note--when we go to the UP in a little over
a week, the days will still be considerably longer than they are in
Toronto. Though we're only going for the long weekend, it will still
be a taste of the longer vacation to come.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 07:25 am:

I guess I didn't realize the days were so short in Toronto. I love the time of year when the days start getting longer, but it seems that it's only the beginning of summer when they start getting shorter already making it feel like summer is already over. Summer is my favorite time of year. I wish it would last a little longer. It's 3 weeks from when we go up for my son's wedding. Can't believe how close that's getting. Then we'll no sooner get back that we head to St. Ignace for the big bridge anniversary. You look forward to those things, but then your summer's over. Sad but true.

By Charlotte, Mishawaka, IN (Charlotte61) on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 08:04 am:

Deb, I know just how you feel about the summer being over to quickly. 3 weeks from today we leave for the UP. I can hardly wait. But then again, if I get to excited it makes the time move to slow until we leave and to fast while we're UP. This trip I will see the western part of the UP. We plan to make it to Copper Harbor the 15th or 16th. I'm excited. The down side is that when we get back to IN I have just 3 weeks till school begins.
Today looks to be a great summer day. High of 80 and none of that humidity.

Mary,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom too. I've
spent many an hour at that hospital with my father when he had his
heart surgery.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 10:05 pm:

Mary I wish you and your family the best and your Mom is in the best hospital in Michigan. My brother in law had a double lung transplant there and he is doing great, golfing now and living a normal life.
