By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 08:28 am:

A day late and a dollar short on annivesary wishes for Cap'n Paul and Dr Nat. I hope you did something fun. The radio this morning said that Houston has the lowest gas prices in the nation at $2.85 per gallon.

Also, my thoughts and prayers are with Kevin and his family, the donor and the doctors.

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 08:31 am:

Thanks all for the good wishes and prayers for Kevin. He is being admitted at Karmanos today, with preparations being done today and tomorrow for Kevin to receive the chemo treatments, which will begin on Thursday and continue until Monday, the 21st. Then he has a day off any treatments and the actual transplant will take place on Wednesday, the 23rd. The Dr. has told them that the most critical day for Kevin will be transplant day, minus 3, which means Sunday, May 20th, since the chemo will have destroyed his immunities and he will be very vulnerable to everything. Again, my family and I thank you for your continued prayers for Kevin and his 26 year old, male donor, during this time.

By lz (Llamamama) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 09:49 am:

Bobbysgirl - thanks for yesterday's update and good luck! No llama babies this year we are all veggin'!

Kevin and his donor will be in my thoughts over the next several days.

By Sharon I. Smith (Sharons) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 10:37 am:

Kevin has all my prayers and best wishes. I went through something like what he is going through (using my own bone marrow) six years ago, and while it was an awful experience, I made it and I am so far cancer free. Kevin is young and strong and I'm sure he will, too.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 10:46 am:

Mary...Kevin and your entire family have my sincere thoughts and wishes for Kevin's treatments and the transplant! Believe in the Power of Prayer!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 10:48 am:

Llamamama....when this foal arrives, we will be veggin' as well! :)

By JH (Thumbgardener) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 01:30 pm:

Best wishes and prayers go out for Kevin and his donor.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 01:56 pm:

By Mary Geshel (Maryll) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 05:08 pm:

Kevin: My thoughts and prayers are with you and your donor. Lots of prayers for Sunday and I will burn a candle in front of the Sacred Heart at church for the successful transplant on Wednesday. God bless you and your mom and dad and family.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Geshel

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 08:30 pm:

Thanks Cindy; I took the day off from work and we had fun day in the Natural History museum seeing the "Imperial Rome" exhibit they have on display, then we had a fine Italian dinner. In the mean time, we are having record high temps AND our AC went out in our house. I miss the days of driving to Calumet Waterworks and cooling off by the big lake.

Even though our gas here is pretty cheap (relatively), Columbia, SC has us beat; they are at $2.82. It's getting to the point of having to give up an arm, leg, and as of yet first born. But, it wont stop the Dr. and I from returning home in July for 2 weeks.......

By Fran in GA (Francesinga) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 08:31 pm:

My best wishes! I will keep Kevin and his donor in my prayers for the next week or so. I pray for the return of good health for them.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 - 08:13 am:

Instead of an arm or a leg, if only we could give up a pound of flesh for a gallon of gas...we would be a slimmer, trimmer nation in no time at all.

By BJmilford (Bjmilford) on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 - 08:22 am:

Capt Paul...is the "Imperial Rome" exhibit a permanent or moving one? Just spent a week in Rome, including a day in Pompeii......fabulous. I'm anxious to learn more of the history I had forgotten.

By Beverly, San Jose (Beverly) on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 - 04:28 pm:

Best wishes for Kevin and his donor, also a speedy recovery.
