Eight years ago the original Pasty Cammist Jonathan Hopper still had a busy schedule at Michigan Tech. Between classes one day he spotted a TV interview with a guest lecturer. Something you don't see every day in the Copper Country.

Wednesday, April 28, 1999. "A TV5 (Calumet) camera man interviews Dr. Robert T. Bakker, guest lecturer at MTU. The big picture shows one of his T-Rex souvenirs." Right from the Pasty Archies.

Good Morning, Everyone! It's a beautiful morning here in mid-Michigan, but it looks like some storms are on tap for later in the day here.
We love the Harbor Haus, too! I was just looking at their menu online yesterday, and it had 2007 at the bottom of the page, so it would stand to reason that they are getting ready to open.

Good Morning!! My guys are looking forward to the prime rib buffet at the lodge and we are all looking forward to the pasties at the Hut. Can't wait till July.

Janet, by lodge, are you referring to Keweenaw Mountain Lodge, or somewhere else?
We have never had a chance to eat at the Hut before--hopefully we will this summer.

I am sorry Marianne........but I feel that I must correct you...Mid Michigan is actually the Traverse City area. On a Michigan map, you will see that by drawing a line from our SE border to our NW border, the center of the state is much further North. I know, I'm too pickey.

Good Morning, its nice here in Pinckney. Soccer game should be warm and sunny.

Well, Tom, that's not the way most people measure it. They measure & are referring to the mid-point of the Lower Peninsula. You would probably be correct, if that was the common meaning of mid-Michigan, but your way is not the generally accepted meaning.
By Janet Boatman (Janetnwohio) on Saturday, April 28, 2007 - 01:36 pm:
Yes Marianne I meant the Mountain Lodge it is a very neat place we eat there quite a few times the week we are there.
By FJL (Langoman) on Saturday, April 28, 2007 - 08:29 pm:
Well Tom, you could be correct, but your way is not the way......... Can't be any simpler than that....... or could it??
By Happy to be in the U.P. (Lahelo) on Saturday, April 28, 2007 - 09:53 pm:
Tom, I am going to correct you I am orginally from the Saginaw area as Marianne is. IT has always been known as Mid-Michigan you are further north. So we have always know Traverse City as Northern Lower Michigan. That is my belief, has always been. So I am sticking to it ...........hee hee.

My ex-husband considered Saginaw "up north", I am sure that explains so much as to why he is the ex.
