There was a lot more snow on the ground back in April of '99. Actually snow is in the forecast today here in the Copper Country, but looks like it hasn't delivered yet this morning.

I'm expecting to have to drive through some snow this weekend in
the UP. I wonder how much snow will land on our Easter toques/
tewks.

Charlie, in this picture, it looks like it is trying to thaw.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 - 07:51 am:

Good Morning! I see that Houghton & Copper Country are under a Winter Storm Warning this afternoon through tomorrow night for 6 to 12 inches of snow.

I'm glad that it is warmer here today than it will be in Copper Country. Our weather forecast is for 2 to 3 inches of rain here 15 hours today, with an accompanying Flood Watch. That would translate to a whole lot of snow if it were colder and came as snow instead of rain, like in the neighborhood of 2 to 3 feet of snow, which is way too much so close to Easter! After we get the heavy rains, our precipitation is supposed to change over to snow later tonight, with cold temps. Then, we have snow in our forecast through Easter here!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 - 08:09 am:

Good morning! It has just starting snowing here in MN.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 - 11:07 am:

We have had some rain, sprinkles this morning. Rather that than snow but I really want sun.

By Lorelei (Lorelei) on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 - 02:12 pm:

I just heard that the snow storm warning for the Keweenaw and Houghton counties has been cancelled. We now have a blizzard warning :(

Fun, Huh?

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 - 03:34 pm:

I'm trying to find something postive to say about the Blizzard Warning UP there, Lorelei. How about, "Hey Dean, your cross country ski season just found new life this spring!" Seriously, I just looked at MTU's web cams on their cross country trails, & they are covered in white again.

It is Michigan. Easter in Michigan often seems to be cold, with some sort of precipitation. I guess people will be wearing their down parkas over their Easter clothes this year. :-)

Our rain is supposed to change over to snow overnight tonight. It's scary to think how much snow we would have had had all of our rain today come down as snow. I'm glad it was rain, but we are under a flood watch here.

You all hang in there! My son is in Houghton. Normally, he would be loving a Blizzard, but I don't know about this late. I haven't had a chance to talk to him about it.

By Beverly, San Jose (Beverly) on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 - 04:44 pm:

It's a beautiful day in San Jose today. Warm and sunny with a few cirrus clouds (thin & wispy) a slight breeze, the birds are singing and nesting and seems happiness abounds. I picked my first bouquet of lilacs yesterday displayed with beautiful yellow tulips, bringing that outdoor fragrance inside. I love Spring.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 - 04:48 pm:

That's what we needed Beverly! It's cloudy, snowy and cold here in MN, the lilacs still look like dead twigs. Oh well, it's warm and sunny somewhere at least, picture in the mind.
Mr. Deb

It dosen't look to nice U.P. there on the Bridge or Airport Cam.It is perfect weather here in K-Town now, and has been for many days.Everything blosoming from Dogwood to Lilacs,my grass has been mowed 4 times,I got a nice tan by doing that with no shirt on.We do have Storms to the west comming this way soon.

Is the picture from 8 years ago above, Hancock?
