Even though the blizzard of 2007 is over here in the Keweenaw, I just couldn't resist showing you a couple of the pictures that Chris Koskiniemi sent. It sure looks like his youngsters were having a blast jumping in the snow and cavorting, oblivious to the storm blowing and snowing all around them. These two shots give you a good idea of the amount of snow we received in a short time here too, since before the storm began, we had bare ground.

Today's third shot by Sherry Giacoletto is what it looked like here yesterday morning with the frost covering the trees. The sun has been brightly shining for a few days now, so the melt has begun for the second time this spring, but it may be a few weeks or so, before we're back to bare ground once more.

To be a kid again playing in the snow.........

I remember when the cold had no effect on me. Especially as a teenager. Now (at 44) I see a kid/teen walking around with his buddies in 40 degree weather, wearing nothing but jeans and t-shirts, all I can think is 'put on a coat you dufus'.

IF THEY DO HAVE COATS ON THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVEN'T DISCOVERED THE ZIPPERS...THE LITTLE GIRL IN THE FIRST PIC MAY BE A NATURAL BULL RIDER...GLAD TO KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY INSOMNIAC OUT HERE...HAVE A GREAT DAY!

At first glance I thought that top photo was of two Easter Bunnies leaping off the porch.

I am SO glad we didn't get all that snow. They do look like they're having fun though. We ARE supposed to get some today though. Sigh!

That first photo reminds me of Dad's stories about sledding off of the roof in Iron Mountain when he was a kid in the 30's and 40's.
