This unsuspecting wolf, didn't even look up while he was being captured last week by E. Neil Harri, our eye in the sky. Either he didn't hear the airplane above him or just didn't care it was there. Following snowmobile tracks on his journey is a smart way to travel, since the trail is packed and easier walking. With the snow banks along the side breaking away and the waterway already opened up, it's a good thing he's skirting the edge too. He must be a well-seasoned traveler in these parts. As for location, all Neil would say was, "somewhere south of here"!

I love your picture, as I do all of your aerial shots, Neil! It is really interesting to see the way the ice & snow has developed such a long, deep crack! I assume that is a river or a creek?

Is that stamp sands in the water?

This is a small meandering stream flowing out of a small lake. No mining activity anywhere near it no stamp sand for sure. The dark is just soil color. It is a low marshy area.
