Another trip to the shores of Lake Superior, this time with Julie Filipowitz and company to McLain State Park. These two look pretty comfy on the side by side chair there, albeit a little chilled perhaps. At least when you head to the beach this time of year, you don't need as much sunscreen, since only your face is exposed and not much of that even! Enduring the chill in the air is all worth it though, when you get a glimpse of the scene the two chair occupants were enjoying. That second photo is just one example of the scenery you'll see on an excursion through the snowy park, located on M203 between Calumet and Hancock. Grab your snowshoes or skis and enjoy the view!

I think I'd prefer to enjoy the view in the summer time. They look too cold for me. Nice pictures, though.

You forgot about the biggest advantage of all to being out there this time of year Mary...... no bugs!!

Drifted Road

Paul has pointed out the best part of winter. I don't miss the mosquitos or black flies at all. They look like they are having fun.

Where's everyone today? Shoveling snow? We got 11 inches here in Gwinn. Rick is plowing now & said he'll probably be out there again later today if it keeps coming down. But it does look beautiful outside with the snowcovered trees in our yard. I feel sorry for the people who had the awful tornadoes down south yesterday.

If you wore that much clothing in the summer the bugs wouldn't bother you much either! lol It's looking a little wintry outside here in Davison now, too!

Down here in SE Michigan we had freezing rain, rain, and a snowflake or two. Now it's soggy snowbanks and standing water. And the ever beautiful dead grass.

Married on the beach at McLain 30 years ago this Sept 10, and they said it wouldn't last. Guess "THEY" just don't know much about marriages made on the beach of the Big Lake.......great pics and see you all on the 4th of July

Would like to be sitting there on one of those benches waiting for the sun to set... even in the winter!

The best part of visiting a state park this time of year are the reasonable fees.

Hey, that's me and my daughter Natalie at the beach! There were no crowds on the beach that day. We were the only ones there. A little bit of a hike through some pretty deep snow for some cool views.
